Pradeep Kumar Sinha appointed as the Principal Advisor to PM

Former Cabinet Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sinha has been appointed the Principal Advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of P.K. Sinha. He served as Cabinet Secretary from 13th June 2015 to 30th August 2019. He was a 1977 batch Indian Administrative Service Batch officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. He joined cabinet secretariat on June 1, 2015, as Officer-on-Special Duty.

Shri Sinha has served as Secretary in the Ministries of Power and Shipping and also served as Special Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Trump nominates Indian-American Shireen Mathews as District Court judge

President Donald Trump has nominated Indian-American Shireen Mathews as a judge of the US District Court for the Southern District of California. Matthews is the sixth Indian-American nominated to the federal judiciary at various levels by Trump. Currently, Matthews is a partner at Jones Day, the fifth-largest law firm in the country, in San Diego. Article III judges “hold their office during good behaviour”, which means they have a lifetime appointment, except under very limited circumstances.
